August 31 is the HVUT Form 2290 Truck Tax Deadline
The federal heavy vehicle use tax (HVUT) return must be filed for the month the taxable vehicle is first used on public highways during the current period, pay in full. Usually August 31 st is the last date for reporting this 2290 truck taxes for the complete tax period. As stated above the current period begins July 1, 2021 and ends June 30, 2022 of a tax year and August 31, 2021 is the due date for reporting and pay the HVUT returns. If in case purchased a used vehicle then you’re liable for this 2290 truck tax if you’re about to register this traded vehicle in your name or company name. Form 2290 must be filed by the last day of the month following the month of first use, pay in full calculating tax for the remaining period till June 30.
